It's almost summer! Yes, I can't believe that I am writing that either....
When thinking of summer décor do you think of a patriotic palette? I do! This year, I created two all new summer doormat and layering rug collections and I am so happy to share our Patriotic Porch Collection today!
Summer collections are my favorite to design because I get to day dream about all the summer bbq’s, pool days and fireworks that are about to take place. When creating the designs for this collection, I used our bright and bold colors like red, white and blue.
We've also added in many new beach and lake house doormats too! These make great host or hostess gifts when visiting friends and family at the lake or beach this summer!
When updating my porch for summer, I remove the spring decor, doormat and layering rug. I always sweep and clean my front door and porch when switching out seasonal decorations because a little cleaning up makes such a big difference!
I always start with a Nickel designs Doormat and Layering Rug. My favorite layering rugs for this season are bright reds and navy blues! You can shop our best selling summer layering rugs HERE
One of the best ways to decorate your front porch area quickly and easily is by adding a doormat.
Not only is a welcome mat a cute addition to the front porch, this will also help reduce the amount of dirt that might get tracked into your home.
Choose a summer doormat that fits your style and personality, the perfect way to greet your guests!

Another great way to update your porch for summer is to decorate your door!
I love changing out my door decor each season and I look for a seasonal wreath with colors that coordinate with the rest of my décor. Other simple updates to your door can include a door knocker, new door hardware, vinyl decal or new house letters placed on the door.
Here are a few of my favorite wreaths...found right on Amazon!
Last, I like to add some plants and greenery to the side of my doormat.
You can even find faux hanging plants! If you are looking for real plants, succulents and Petunias like full sun and Begonias and ferns like shade. Live plants can be found at your local hardware store or nursery. These can be planted in coordinating planters that accentuate your color theme.
I hope this helps bring some inspiration to your summer porch!
