How to Create a Summer Porch for Your Home

My summer porch is finished!

Did you have a chance to check this out on my Instagram feed? If not, I'll break it all down here! My summer porch is complete and I absolutely love the way it turned out. I took you along with me to HomeGoods to grab some additional décor for my porch and I even tried something new this year!

To start, I removed the spring decor, doormat and layering rug. I always sweep and clean my front door and porch when switching out seasonal decorations because a little cleaning up makes such a big difference!

Summer Porch Decor I went to HomeGoods with a plan, which made my trip much more efficient! I wanted to have two matching plants on each side of my doormat and layering rug this year, which I've never done before! That sounds silly now but I've always had greenery on one side and some other accent piece on the other side. I found two topiaries right away that are about 30" inches tall with a pot base of about 8 inches by 8 inches. The white wood planter is also perfect for summertime décor!

In the middle of the planters, I added our Patriotic Summer HOME doormat on top of our Red and White Striped Layering Rug for a bright and bold summer look! To top off the look, I included our 'land of the free' wooden sign which really brings in the red and blue colors next to the white planter.
Let me know if you prefer the matching planters or like the contrast of different decor on each side of the door...I'd love to hear what you think!
This was an easy update and really created a welcoming summer entrance!
